Crane Assisted Tree Removal

Initially the site is surveyed to establish the felling direction and best location for the crane to be set up. Once on site, the crane is levelled and stabilised. Each rig, cut and lift is carefully discussed, allowing for the tree’s growth habit and an accurate assessment of the weight of each piece to be removed to ensure that the operating capacity of the crane is not exceeded.

The gradual removal of the tree is a skilled balancing act between the crane operator maintaining precise control and tension on each piece to facilitate the appropriate cuts made by the climber. Once each piece has been cut away, the crane operator has to safely extract it for lowering to the drop zone.
